Is ObamaCare Repeal Coming?

Steven Hayward at Forbes Magazine makes a bold prediction:  that ObamaCare will be repealed well in advance of the 2014 elections:

Senate Democrats endangered for re-election will lead the charge for repeal perhaps as soon as January, after they get an earful over the Christmas break.  They’ll call it “reform,” and clothe it in calls for delaying the individual mandate and allowing people and businesses to keep their existing health insurance policies.  But it is probably too late to go back in many cases.  With the political damage guaranteed to continue, the momentum toward repeal will be unstoppable.  Democrats will not want to face the voters next November with the albatross of Obamacare.

The politics of the repeal effort will be a game theorist’s dream.  Tea Party Republicans will resist “reforms” to Obamacare in favor of complete repeal.  Democrats will try to turn the tables and set up Republicans as obstacles to reform, hoping to inoculate themselves prospectively from mayhem at the polls next November. The House might want to insist that the Senate go first; after all, it was the Senate version of the bill that the House had to swallow after Scott Brown’s election in January 2010.  The House can rightly insist that the Senate needs to clean up the mess they made.  Obama may well give Capitol Hill Democrats a pass on a repeal vote, and veto any bill that emerges.  He’ll never face the voters again.

This wouldn’t be the first time that a health care entitlement was repealed.  The same thing happened in the late 1980s with catastrophic coverage for seniors.  Because seniors were made to pay for their benefits under that scheme, the uproar forced Congress to repeal the measure barely a year after it went into effect.  Obamacare looks to be on the same political trajectory, and for the same reason.  Obamacare represents the crisis of big government; the limits of administrative government have finally been breached.  For the first time ever, some polls are showing a majority of Americans doubting the goal of universal health coverage.

Go here to read the rest.  Hayward could well be right.  With the passage of ObamaCare on a purely party line vote the Democrats took a huge gamble.  Every major extension of the welfare state before could claim some significant Republican support.  Not in this case:  every Republican voted against final passage.  The Democrats own ObamaCare in its entirety and the signs are that they purchased a white Jackass:

1.  A recent poll indicated that the uninsured, the purported reason for this government sponsored mangling of the health insurance market, aren’t interested in getting insurance.

2.  This jibes with the pathetically small number of enrollees for ObamaCare, three percent of the total of enrollees needed to make this mess sort of work for a while.

3.  The mass cancellation of insurance policies that is turning erst while supporters of Obamacare against it.

4.  Most devastating of all, the 41% hike in average premiums that is being laid at the door of ObamaCare.

I call members of Congress “Congress Critters” for a reason.  They tend, as a group, to act like herd beasts.  When they panic they stampede, and a stampede panic is beginning to brew on the Democrat side of the aisle.

This all will lead to a fratricidal struggle in the Democrat party between Obama and Democrats in icy blue districts and states and Democrats in Red States and districts facing political oblivion unless ObamaCare is repealed.  Pass the pop corn.

Some Dem’s will come back to the vomit to eat it, like an old junk yard dog.
Pity the hounds.

This is not very nice however I will say it; Choke on it you vermin pushers of Obamacare. Let them Dem’s be worried about their “political career” if they fear the blow back from unhappy constituents.
You made your flea bed…now sleep in it.

I have pondered the rant…..
Couldn’t erase it. I’m sorry but my hatred for this corrupt program OC and the HHS mandate has the better of me.

“You Can Keep Your Current Health care Policy!” Liar!

We find now that many Democrats are upset with their leadership. They feel they have been lied to and given short shrift. Everyone else seems to feel the same. The president’s approval ratings are lower than ever before, especially among his own party.

In the end, Obama will have to eat his own arrogance. He thought that he could force America to swallow his ultra-leftist social engineering and the revolt is gathering force big time. He is just a big wind-bag, in love with his own rhetorical powers. There is nothing behind the rhetoric, just a bare-naked wanna-be. Read Ed Klein’s THE AMATEUR. He nails Obama and David Axelrod as well. Shapeshifters, that’s what they are.
