Alexander Solzhenitsyn Explains the Importance of the Second Amendment

The amendment, like most other provisions in the Constitution, has a history.  It was adopted with some modification and enlargement from the English Bill of Rights of 1688, where it stood as a protest against arbitrary action of the overturned dynasty in disarming the people, and as a pledge of the new rulers that this tyrannical action should cease.  The right declared was meant to be a strong moral check against the usurpation and arbitrary power of rulers, and as a necessary and efficient means of regaining rights when temporarily overturned by usurpation.

And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family?

Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?

After all, you knew ahead of time that those bluecaps were out at night for no good purpose. And you could be sure ahead of time that you’d be cracking the skull of a cutthroat. Or what about the Black Maria [Government limo] sitting out there on the street with one lonely chauffeur — what if it had been driven off or its tires spiked.

The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin’s thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt!

Never Yet Melted (NYM) blog posted that “Drudge Report” placed a byline that Obama will use executive orders to impose gun control. Drudge’s emplaced with the byline pictures of Hitler and Stalin.

NYM writes that the lying, vile journalist scumbags, “naturellement, reacted like irate monkeys on exhibit at the zoo, flinging epithets, ridicule, and abuse in Drudge’s direction.”

Plus, the roadmap for serfdom is not only about guns: gold confiscation likely is the next stop.

SB3341 Illinois’ ‘Precious Metal Purchasing Act’. It was passed in the Illinois Senate in 2012, and stalled in the House. Rick Santelli notes that “the long and short of it is is they want an audit trail to any precious metals, whether you’re talking coins or bullion.” It does not seem too much of a stretch to see in this 1933 Executive Order #6102 that confiscated gold and cleared the way eventually for Nixon’s 1971 disconnect of the dollar from gold. As Liberty Blitzkrieg’s Mike Krieger notes: “So let me get this straight. First they want gun registration and now precious metal registration? I’m sure the government would only use such information in our best interests, because as we all know: Your Government Loves You. Sounds reasonable, after all, only ‘terrorists’ buy guns and gold anyway.”

The first two things a Socialist leader does to consolidate power is confiscate all weapons and destroy religious freedom. Obama is well on his way to succeed now that mindless American traitors have made the worst mistake in our nation’s history and reelected a Socialist President. God help us. Solzhenitsyn is a real giant among men seeking freedom and definitive human rights. But I an afraid he may be a prophet without honor in Americas – He tried to warn us, but who has listened?

  • Almost half the people who voted in the last presidential election Robert. Giving way to depression is simply playing into our adversaries’ hands, and I refuse to do it. The people who voted for Obama are not traitors, but misguided Americans, for the most part, gulled into voting for a man who is the worst President in our nation’s history. We need to educate them and persuade them as best we can that the path the nation is currently on is destructive of our prosperity and our freedom. I think that Obama’s attempt to seize upon gun control will be looked at by future historians as the opening error in a calamitous second term for him.

  • Robert A. Rowland says:

Depression is not a factor for me. Reality is. We will see what historians have to say when his term ends. God help us Io put an end to it. I am sure Jimmy Carter will appreciate being taken off the hook. Promoting socialism in America, the enemy I spent a military career contesting, is treason in my book.
