The Values of the Word

I have to tip my blogging cap to the Lying Worthless Political Hack, aka Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House.  Everytime I think she has hit bottom, she somehow manages to dig down a bit further.    On May 6 she made this statement in a speech to the Catholic Community Conference:

“They ask me all the time, ‘What is your favorite this? What is your favorite that? What is your favorite that?’ And one time, ‘What is your favorite word?’ And I said, ‘My favorite word? That is really easy. My favorite word is the Word, is the Word. And that is everything. It says it all for us. And you know the biblical reference, you know the Gospel reference of the Word.”

“And that Word,” Pelosi said, “is, we have to give voice to what that means in terms of public policy that would be in keeping with the values of the Word. The Word. Isn’t it a beautiful word when you think of it? It just covers everything. The Word.

“Fill it in with anything you want. But, of course, we know it means: ‘The Word was made flesh and dwelt amongst us.’ And that’s the great mystery of our faith. He will come again. He will come again. So, we have to make sure we’re prepared to answer in this life, or otherwise, as to how we have measured up.”

There are many things that I am uncertain about in this world, but one point I am very, very clear on.  Having a perfect pro-abort voting record as the Lying Worthless Political Hack has, is something that is completely antithetical to the Truth that the Word came into the World to proclaim.  The Lying Worthless Political Hack is a disgrace to the Church and to the nation.

Maybe Nancy the Theologian would like to enlighten us as to at what point the Word became flesh.

I thought religion and politics were suppose to be seperate Nancy? Funny how the “left” only uses religion when it’s “good for them”! I would deny this pro-abortion, anti-Catholic Communion everytime she stepped foot in The Church.

Maybe part of Nancy’s “Word” is going along with Obama’s support of gay rights and repeal of efforts to defend traditional marriage. Talk about another real problem with Catholic Social Teaching:

Imagine if Sarah Palin had given that “performance.” Maybe some botox got into her gray matter.

Imagine: Obama isn’t the only clueless nitiwt befuddling the federal government.

Elitists thought Sarah Palin wasn’t smart enouigh to be VP. Obama is proving even more stupid. Maybe that’s the reason he refused to release college transcripts.

“Fill it with anything you want.”

Get this woman out of my party! She’s passed retirement age. Go home, Speaker Pelosi.

It makes me want to build a time machine, go back to 1960, and smack JFK. He wanted to see what would happen if Catholic politicians weren’t held to any expectation? Thanks a lot, Jack.

Might we pray she is beginning to try to assert her Catholic faith, however crudely? Ought we to encourage her in such a journey?

I agree. To further help her, we should give her lots of time to contemplate her faith in silence. Thus we should work hard to elect her next election opponent.

Great idea, Phillip. Does anyone know if Sen. Boxer would like to embark on a similar spiritual journey?

An extended silent retreat may be just the thing.

For lots of them.

[…] Did Jesus have the “right to life” at the moment of conception? That was a question posed to Nancy Pelosi in response to her recent assertion that she (and we) must pursue public policies “in keeping with the values” of Jesus Christ, “The Wor…. […]
