Amazing, that brings back some memories. The video actually uses a series of quotes about Courage, Faith and Hope which seems suspiciously familiar to the Duty Honor Country speech by Gen. McArthur at West Point that all new cadets must memorize. Anyone know if they are somehow related?

On a separate note, Gencon was mentioned above and I remember back in high school my mom finally letting me get to go, since it wasn't that far (I lived in the suburbs of Chicago at the time) and we got to meet Gary Gygax. I was a complete Civilization addict as well, although it may be two more decades before I ever get back into it with our rapidly expanding clan.

Ramon in Krakow

Duty, Honor, Country: Those three hallowed words reverently dictate what you ought to be, what you can be, what you will be. They are your rallying points: to build courage when courage seems to fail; to regain faith when there seems to be little cause for faith; to create hope when hope becomes forlorn.

I haven't really liked Civilization since the very first one (I secretly installed it in my school's computer lab and played it every day :)).

This one looks promising. I think hexes generally work out better than squares.

Just hope its not all buggy and weird like some earlier versions (I tuned out after civ III).
