I have designated Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House, a Worthless Political Hack in prior posts, here and here. Now I must add to her title. Her laughable attempt to argue, in the immortal words of Sergeant Schultz, “I know nothing!”, in regard to water-boarding and other “enhanced interrogation techniques”, what she deemed to be torture in the 2006 and 2008 elections, is so transparent that even the Washington Post is stating that obviously she is lying. Steny Hoyer, Democrat Majority Leader in the House, who has despised Pelosi for decades, has called for hearings on what Pelosi knew and when did she know it. Twist in the wind Lying Worthless Political Hack!

I’ll register, once again, my disapproval of using the term ‘lying worthless political hack,’ as I do not believe such language is conducive to civil discourse. That said, my opinion of Ms. Pelosi is does not differ markedly from yours.
Civil discourse is to be cherished John Henry, and I mean that sincerely, but sometimes a person’s conduct is so outrageous that it is necessary to simply call a spade, a spade.
As a political matter, if I were a Democrat I would want my party to move Heaven and Earth to get this woman off the political stage. She is dynamite for the GOP. The problem of course is that there is absolutely no way Pelosi will go without a fight that will blow up the House for months. If Obama is smart, he is paying a lot of attention to this situation.
How absolutely delightful. The January Prom Queen is now the May Nerd Who Can’t Get A Date. Hoyer has been a Pelosi rival since they were both overly ambitious teens back in the day. This is spectacularly delicious for him. And given that she is the final voice to implement Dear Leader’s enlightened Porkapalooza policies, this affair could mean trainwreck on the House floor. Don Mac is a gentleman in only designating her as Lying Worthless Political Hack. I prefer one dealing with bags of waste products, but this is a family blog and I would not want to upset Mr. Iafrate too much given his sensitivities. So we shall rejoice in Ms. Pelosi’s dilemma and move on.
On target as usual Gerard! I think that as the walls begin closing in on the Lying Worthless Political Hack, she will seek to do the maximum politcal damgage to those she perceives as having betrayed her. I do not think she will “go gentle into that good night”!
At the very least, the true nature of Pelosi is becoming more apparent — even to fellow Dems!

Nancy Pelosi and some of her cohorts should go down in flames and rightly so. Using the torture debate for political gain is biting them where it hurts. Yes the torture debate needs to be debated, but not used as an anvil for political gain.
You get what you serve.
GOP members of Congress could call Pelosi’s bluff and convene a special investigative committee on this issue. Then they could call Pelosi to testify under oath before the committee. If she continues to insist that the CIA lied to her, but has no evidence to back that up, and other members of Congress contradict her testimony, then she could be looking at perjury charges, which would force her to resign or potentially be expelled.
Glad to know at least one blogger had the guts to pounce on her. Many others dared not even to make mention of the incident.

The fact of the matter being that an overwhelming majority of Democrats themselves right after 9/11 had initially turned a blind eye on torture and in fact even endorsed it.

What Nancy Pelosi is doing is pure politics. If she really had the moral fortitude believing that torture was wrong she would have voiced her opinion from the get-go.
