Life Imitates a Simpsons' Episode – A Continuing Series
Published Friday, January 23, 2009 A.D. | By Donald R. McClarey

Jacques Chirac, former president of France, was mauled by his clinically depressed poodle Sumo. I trust that I speak for all of our contributors and readers when I wish Sumo a rapid recovery. Hattip to Instapunidit.

Yes, depression is no laughing matter. Poor puppy dog.
Ahhh, speaking as another canine, it’s hard not to be depressed if your human is a clown. Particularly if he’s not funny! visit me at http://www.SandySays1.wordpress.com
There appears to be a World Therapeutic Movement. Includes animals. I looked with laffs that the former French P.M. was assaulted by a paranoid pooch. And that the world MSM reported this event with all due seriousness. As though we assume human-like qualities to essentially wild creatures- including this pampered poodle. Not sure if life is imitating the Simpsons. More like life imitating PETA. Or truth far stranger than fiction.
I suppose in France taking the mad dog out to the back pasture for the final coup de grâce is passé.
When I heard “clinically depressed poodle,” the first thing that popped into my head was “DeVillipin mauled Chirac? What crisis provoked that? Was red wine served with the fish?”
“I wish Sumo a rapid recovery.”
Uh…who bit who again?
Is “depressed” the new dog psych term for “dominant aggressive?”
I’d say a certain former French president and a certain poodle need to go back to obedience training together!
Were’s Cruella de Vil when you need her?
I would defend to the death Sumo from Cruella de Vil, especially since she is a fictional character and therefore the risk of my death would be small indeed. On the other hand, if she came after Chirac….
