"Around here, we look for opportunities to work “As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly,” into the conversation."

A classic cminor. I do not think I have ever laughed so hard at a sitcom episode as I did during that turkey drop scene.

Well, I'm chuckling to see that Tim Bair at the Telegraph (linked by Mark Steyn, linked above) includes the legendary "Turkey Drop" scene from WKRP in Cincinnatti as item XII on his update list. Around here, we look for opportunities to work "As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly," into the conversation.

Jeez--this is what all the fuss was about?

Based on some of the descriptions I'd read I was expecting Sadaam's torture chamber for turkeys with slasher movie effects. Instead, I get to watch some schmo apparently decapitate a bird or two--not that it's really evident-- and look sheepish because he realizes he's being filmed at it!

Anybody who made a fuss about this deserves to be served up a big plate of warmed-over Tofurkey for Thanksgiving dinner. With a side of sprouts.

The blog Classical Values reveals another shocking photograph. "Not only was that animal slaughtered while still alive, but its dead body was then severed into pieces, with the flesh on one of its legs finally torn apart by the teeth of a man who then swallowed it -- the latter in full view of reporters and photographers. And after all of that, he was elected president."

The horror.
